How to add a permanent watermark to PDF

$

Hi,

I am trying to find a way to add a permanent watermark to the PDF so that it cannot be changed, deleted, or hidden (for example, covered by a white comment box), even in Acrobat editor.

We would like to leave the rest of the PDF to be editable, so protecting the entire PDF via password is not an option for us.

I also tied a JavaScript-based route, but it requires the Reader/Editor to enable the JavaScript and users may refuse to do so.

Now I got sucked...Can anyone help throw some light on it?

Much appreciate it.

Adobe DC Opening Two Tabs in IE

Good Afternoon,

We are currently using Topaz Signature Pads for a digital signature that is submitted electronically. We have to use IE to sign and submit the documents in our environment, as chrome does not support this feature.

Since the most recent update, 19.010.20064, Adobe PDF documents open in two tabs and when you try to submit the document after it is signed we get an error. I believe this is due to the two tabs being opened.

We have one workstation, which has not received the update and it working fine. Any workstation that has update 19.010.20064 isn't working, however any workstation on 19.008.20081 is working fine.

Digital signature valid but not visually readable

With Adobe Reader DC I can successfully place a digital signature in a pdf document. The private key related to the signature resides in a Qualified Signature Creation Device (USB stick with a smart card).

The produced signature is reported as valid after the signing. However, it is visually not readable as the letters in the text are placed on top of each other. Reinstalling Adobe Reader did not help. The issue persists on both my desktop and notebook computers.

The certificate appears perfectly readable on the preview screen before pressing Sign button. Here is a snapshot of the visual result after pressing the Sign button.

Unable to Remove ID for Digital Signature

Hi,

I have successfully tried the Digital signautre on Adobe PDF.

However, while I clicked "Edit > Preferences > "Signatures" > "Identities & Trusted Certificates" > "More",

I followed the stpes to selec a ID I wanna delete, so I clicked "Remove ID".

And then it's unable to do. Adobe didn't allow me deleting.

popping out a window showing "Could not remove the digital ID because of an authentication failure."

My Storage Mechanism of ID is "Digital ID File", so it should be ok but not work.

But I have no idea what the authentication failure is.

I just know each status of signature is all green mark. (Signature Properties > Show Signer's Certificate > Trust)

Not sure if there is anyone who has the same problem as mine on discussion,

because I didn't find so prposed this question and kindly looking for the solutions.

(p.s. I use Adobe Acrobat Reader 2017)

Thanks,

Leona

Remove signatures and stop the automatic verification

Hello,

When I opened a pdf to edit I mistakenly selected something to do with verify signatures ( I also clicked the check box to always do this) I cannot now  edit my pdfs. It states that I am viewing a signed version and all editing functions have been disabled. I really need to remove this and remove the automatic verification so that I can edit my pdfs. I have tried “save as” and renamed the document but it still will not let me edit the new saved document. I have also uninstalled Acrobat Pro and then reinstalled it, deleted the PDF and reloaded it from my email to no avail.

Thank you

Signature only valid in certain feilds

I'm filling out a form that I need to sign in 5 different places (plus a few signature fields I'm supposed to keep empty). When I validate the signatures, two of those always show up as valid with the message;

-The revision of the document that was covered by this signature has not been altered; however, there have been subsequent changes to the document

-The document is signed by the current user

-Click Signature properties and then click Sign Version to see what is covered by this signature

But the other three always show up as invalid with the message;

-The document has been altered or corrupted since the Signature was applied.

-The document is signed by the current user

The only commonality I can see between the fields that always come up as invalid is the parts of the doc they're signing for have a lot more fields for information i.e. name address insurance info ect.. But the ones that come up as valid do still have input fields in the form of date signed, name in print, and in one case a checkbox.

Things I've tried so far include;

Clearing and resigning the signatures several times

Filling in the signatures in different orders

Going to trust settings and clicking the certify documents box

Closing and reopening Adobe

Restating my computer

Deleting the Signature at "Identities and Trusted Certificates" and making a new one

Deleting the entire document, redownloading it, and filling it out again

Downloading a completely blank copy of the doc with no information and only filling in the signature

Filling all possible information fields in an invalid section, even ones that shouldn't be filled, and signing them

Saving to a different filename when I sign (and saving to the same file name of course)

Checking Signed Version to look for differences (I can't see any)

None of those have changed anything. The exact same signature fields showed up as valid and invalid every time.

I'm using a self-signed digital ID saved to my computer if that could have something to do with it.

Sorry if this is worded confusingly I have zero experience with any of this.

Thanks

Use a stylus/pen to capture signature with a touch screen

I have several fillable forms with signature fields. Historically, for Windows 7 and 10 PC's, I have used Topaz signature pads and the Topaz GemSignPlus "plugin" to capture and "verify" signatures. Generally speaking, the user performs the following steps:

  1. Open the file
  2. Save As a different filename
  3. Fill out the form as needed
  4. Click the necessary signature field and wait for the Signature Capture dialog to appear
  5. Sign using the signature pad and click "Accept"

We recently began purchasing Acer Switch 12 tablets (Windows 10 x64) in order to cut back on staff needing to carry a laptop AND signature pad in the field to acquire signatures. On these new machines, the Signature Capture dialog does not appear when the signature field is clicked.

Troubleshooting steps taken include the following:
Make sure the signature settings are the same for a "working" device and the tablets.

Result -- no Signature Capture dialog (nor any visible evidence of the "click" action)

Instead of clicking the signature field on the form, tried the "Fill and Sign" icon.

Result -- The signature can be "captured" using the draw feature and then dragged to overlay upon the signature field. However, it does not "register" as signing the document the same way that using a signature pad does. For example, using that method, the user could either e-mail the "signed" document to, or simply open the "signed" document on another machine with a signature pad. But on the traditional machine, the user clicks the Signature field and the Signature Capture dialog box functions as normal. Which is to say, once the signature has been "Accepted" the document is closed for editing with the exception of any other remaining signature fields.

Pleas note that "buy additional software and/or services from Adobe is absolutely NOT an acceptable solution. And I mean that as respectfully as I can possibly make it

Thanks in advance

Secured document, mystery password

I edited a PDF with Acrobat DC Standard and saved it as a new PDF. I just noticed the new one is a SECURED document and won't let me print. I see where I can remove security, but it wants a password. I have NO IDEA what that would be. Where did the password come from? I've never made a password-protected PDF ever in my life. I'm the only one with access or in charge of these documents. There's no sharing or work-flow issues. I tried my Adobe account password and no luck. I'm totally stuck! Any thoughts?

Is it possible to only disable form operation while having the rest enabled?

Hi,

My goal is to only disallow the form operation while having the rest (including editing, annotation) enabled.

I have tried a couple of tools that can manage the permissions, but it looks like when the form operation is disabled, the annotation is somehow also get disabled.

Does any one know how to achieve this?

Thanks!

"Document has been altered or corrupted since it was signed" right after signing

I'm trying to sign PDFs using a digital signature from a smart card.

Right after the file is being signed, I'm seeing "Document has been altered or corrupted since it was signed" error.

Signing the file with a self signed digital signature on file works just fine.

Signing the file with the smart card signature works just fine in Foxit PhantomPDF and Comsign Trust Desktop.

I'm using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC 2019.010.200064.

I saw a previous discussion with a similar error that was not resolved.

1. From the name of the user that openner the thread it seems where both from Israel. Could it be related to some timzone issue?

2. It was suggested on this thread that it's LTV related. Is it possible to disable LTV, i.e. make Acrobat not add LTV information?

The source file (unsigned):

File signed with smart card signature:

File signed with file signature:

File signed with Comsign Trust Desktop with smart card siganture (works just fine):

Digital IDs Disappear

I am having the same problem discussed in this closed thread:

https://answers.acrobatusers.com/Have-to-browse-for-digital-ID-every-time-Acrobat-XI-Stand ard-is-closed-to-digitally-sign-document-q112087.aspx

I navigated to the registry key mentioned in the reply (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\7.0\Security\cPPKHandler\cDigitalIDFiles) and there were no digital IDs there.

Then I exported the same key from the registry of an older computer where the Digital IDs were working and imported it into the problematic computer. The subkeys all appeared in the registry, but I could only view their contents when Acrobat was open. When Acrobat was closed I received an error message when trying to view the contents of the subkeys. And as soon as I closed Acrobat all the subkeys disappeared from the registry.

From a brief internet search it is clear that many others are experiencing this same problem. Has anyone figured out a fix?

Hello, I need help signing a form for an end-user. The form shows the following in Security Properties:

This document's security method restricts what can be done to the document.

I've tried openning it in Acrobat Reader DC, Acrobat X, Adobe Reader XI. Sign is greyed out everywhere.
